Google Pixel 6 Pro, a popular Android smartphone which has set a benchmark in different aspects including the camera, has now reportedly facing overheating issues. The reports claims that these overheating issues are so massive that the device internals got damaged.

According to IT Home citing a Reddit post, the user after a 10 minute phone call witnessed heat bruns on the heat sink area of the device. For those unaware, Google Pixel 6 series was the first to boast Google’s in-house Tensor chipset.

According to the report, the chipset generates too much heat, and after a certain level, the body and parts of the two-year-old device could not tolerate it. If the post is true, the phone is even incapable of handling a basic task such as a phone call. If a user wanted to play a game or perform any heavy tasks, the outcome could have been different.

The Pixel 6 Pro is said to be operational even after the overheating incident. For years, the Pixel 6 Pro has had overheating issues. Furthermore, users of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have reported overheating issues even while performing routine tasks such as watching videos and browsing the web.

Furthermore, users have complained about overheating issues with the Pixel 7 series. The problem has not been resolved, as the company's latest Pixel 8 series has also been reported to have the same issues. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which are powered by the latest Tensor G3 chipset, appear to be affected as well. Google appears to bear a great deal of responsibility for resolving these issues.
