Google Mixboard: We are in times where tech giants are coming up with new innovations almost every other day, and now we have Google, which has unveiled yet another venture in the field of AI. This new venture, known as the Mixboard, is a new AI-powered mood board app, which caters to users who want to brainstorm, visualise and design ideas through the capabilities of generative AI. This latest venture marks Google's newest expedition in the field of creative AI, and this app will now stand in direct competition with Pinterest's collage features and other identical mood board platforms.
This new Mixboard is currently only available in the US as a public beta release through Google Labs, and Google has also engaged through the Discord community for preliminary users and adopters to gain their feedback and opinions.

AI Will Be The Creative Engine
Most mood board apps currently require users to upload, curate and edit images that are already existing. Mixboard is a step up from this, and it allows people to start fiddling with simple text prompts. Google's generative AI can then conjure images, collages and editable boards that can be further refined, mixed or reimagined altogether.
The app uses Google's Nano Banana platform to its advantage, the image editing model praised for its capabilities of handling complex edits which can drop realistic visuals. Users also have the choice to alter or edit or reimagine the results even further just by a simple text prompt.
Everyday Usage Reimagined
Google has iterated that this Mixboard venture captures a broad spectrum of creative ideas, be it home decor, DIYs, brand design and more. For those who need a little inspiration to start off, pre-installed boards are also available. This new platform also comes with text generation, so you don't have to worry about giving those captions a creative scoop, which is good for social media and presentations.
The Market Is Tough
This new venture has entered a race where the young audience is getting more and more engaged and their interest is rising. We already have platforms like Pinterest, whose collage app Shuffles went viral with Gen Z; moreover, startups like Verse and Landing have already experimented with AI-aided generative tools.
This new venture is a step towards more integration of generative AI models with the creative side, and with this, Google is planning to broaden its audience base, amalgamating creators, designers and those who just have a creative flair, and help them bring out the best in their imagination.
