Google along with other features and services has been working on making digital payments easier and faster. In a new update, the company has introduced 5 new features using which the users can add more to Google Wallet to make it a more secure, private digital wallet.

According to Jenny Chang, Vice President, and General Manager, of Google Wallet, in a blog post, the company plans to develop a new digital wallet that prioritises ease, security, and privacy in order to provide an experience that is available to anyone and anywhere. Here are the newly introduced features:

1. Save Passes From Image: According to the blog post, users will soon be able to create and save a digital replica of the card on Wallet simply by taking a photo of the card. It is compatible with any barcode or QR code for any pass.

2. Save Health Insurance Cards: The company is in talks with a US-based health insurance company in order to develop a digital insurance card that can be saved in the wallet. However, the company has not highlighted other countries in the same.

3. Save Your ID: Those who have Android 8 or later can now save their Driving licence to the Wallet. The blog post further mentioned that the feature would be available to other cities in the coming months.

4. Save Company ID: Using this feature, the users would be able to save their company’s ID cards to get more convenient access to the buildings, cafeterias, and other places using Walet later this year.

5. Save Passes From Messages: With this feature, the users would be able to get their tickets, and boarding passes directly in the messages which can later be saved to these wallets. Vietnam Airlines passengers, Renfe, among others, can use these features.
