GTA 6 Big Reveals: Grand Theft Auto 6's second trailer shocked everybody; it came in at a time when people were least expecting it, and GTA fans were still recovering from the fact that it's going to take another year for the game to actually release, which will take place in May 2026.

Maybe the second trailer was just another giveaway by Rockstar Games to calm the waters after it had announced the delayed release of the game. But nonetheless, it was something fans have been waiting for over a year now, and there were some big reveals and gameplay details that we got to see in the second trailer.

Just after the second trailer was revealed, Rockstar Games wasn't done yet, and it dropped some brand new screenshots of the game in a classic Vice City style for the fans to feast upon. These screenshots reveal a lot of things when it comes to maps, characters and gameplay.

So here I have some of my favourite picks from the screenshots gallery right from Rockstar Games itself, so check them out!

Jason Duval

Visible in the classic Vice City-style landscape with palm trees and the sun shining high is Jason Duval, our male protagonist, in a typical GTA-style banner pose. The official website has revealed some details on the character’s storyline, giving us a glimpse into the character’s backstory and how now the male protagonist wants to explore “something new”. A character narrative has been created for Jason Duval, and it goes like this: “Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder.”

Lucia Caminos

Then we have Lucia Caminos, the first-ever female protagonist of the GTA franchise; she seems to have a temper, and the official website says that “Lucia’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk.”

Her backstory reveals the choices she had to make that made her land in a penitentiary. "Life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary." The game, I guess, would start her story after she walks out of the prison; just a speculation, though.

Both protagonists have potent backstories, and their stories intertwine and depend on each other. As Rockstar Games suggests, for Lucia, "A life with Jason could be her way out." For Jason, things seem to have a duality, and as the game maker suggests, "Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to him. Jason knows how he'd like it to turn out, but right now, it's hard to tell."

GTA 6’s Map is Shaping Up with Swamps, Beaches, Backwoods and More

As Rockstar slowly peels back the curtain on Grand Theft Auto 6, we’re getting a clearer picture of the world of Leonida—a state packed with swamps, backwoods, beaches, and decaying coastal towns. Each location has its own flavour, with official descriptions and postcard-style art giving us early glimpses of what’s to come. Here's a look at some of the standout areas players will explore.

Mount Kalaga

Located on Leonida's northern border, Mount Kalaga shows off the state's wilder side. Rockstar's official website says the area offers "prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails" and hints at plenty of colourful characters living deep in its forested backwoods. Expect rugged terrain, remote hideouts, and maybe a few survivalist types off the grid.

Grassrivers

Described as "the untameable jewel of Leonida's crown", Grassrivers looks like it’ll be one of the swampiest—and most dangerous—parts of the map. Teeming with wildlife, especially alligators, it might be the same murky stretch where we saw that gator snap its way through the first trailer. Steeped in atmosphere, this area promises a raw, unpredictable experience.

Leonida Keys

If you're not a fan of water, the Leonida Keys probably won’t be your favourite destination. But if you enjoy oceanside living and watering holes, this stretch of coastal paradise might be just the spot. Built for players who love sun-soaked settings and speedboat escapes, the Keys add a laid-back contrast to the inland chaos.

Vice City

The beating heart of GTA 6, Vice City looks both familiar and newly poished. It may be newer and shinier, but modern-day Vice City hasn't changed that much from the '80s, it seems. It's colourful and chaotic all at once, and it's the location Rockstar seems to be pushing the most across its two trailers. Expect neon lights, crowded beaches, and plenty of high-octane drama.

Ambrosia

Ambrosia is Leonida’s industrial hub, complete with a towering sugar refinery and a local biker gang that’s bound to cause trouble. The official site notes "old school values still reign supreme," suggesting a gritty, working-class vibe. It’s likely we’ll see Jason and Lucia run into some tough customers here while navigating the town’s old-guard mentality.

Port Gellhorn

Rockstar calls Port Gellhorn "Leonida's forgotten coast," and that label feels spot-on. Once a tourist destination, it now sits in disrepair—rundown, grimy, and packed with shady-looking spots. The kind of place where every boarded-up motel has a story, and not the good kind. It doesn’t look like a spot for a sunny vacation, but it’s probably perfect for a heist or two.
