Honour expanded its Magic 8 lineup in China this October with the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro. Now, the company appears to be preparing a third device for the series. A new leak suggests that Honour may introduce a compact model called the Magic 8 Mini, and early details point toward a slim, performance-focused phone that fits into a smaller form factor.

A New Compact Addition to the Magic 8 Series

Tipster Digital Chat Station has shared key details on Weibo, describing an upcoming “ultra-thin” device that aligns with Honour’s design language. According to GSMArena, this phone is likely to be marketed as the Honour Magic 8 Mini. Honour has not confirmed the device yet, but the leaked specifications suggest that the brand is positioning it as a compact, flagship-style option.

Flagship Power in a Smaller Body

The Magic 8 Mini is expected to run on the new 3 nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. This detail stands out because the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is also built on a 3nm process. The shift from Qualcomm to MediaTek for the Mini hints that the device could deliver strong flagship-level performance while keeping costs and size controlled.

Display and Camera Expectations

Leaked details indicate a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display, aligning with Honour’s premium screen design strategy. On the camera side, the Mini may include a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The tipster also notes that Honour could choose to “downgrade” this to a 50-megapixel 1/1.5-inch sensor instead, depending on production or pricing decisions. A telephoto lens may also be part of the rear setup, which would give the Mini an advantage over many compact smartphones.

Slim Profile With a Large Battery

The phone is said to feature a 5,370mAh battery that may be marketed as 5,500mAh. What makes this notable is the reported thickness: between 5mm and 6mm. If accurate, the Magic 8 Mini would be significantly thinner than the Magic 8 (7.95 mm) and Magic 8 Pro (8.32 mm). Achieving that level of slimness while maintaining a large battery capacity suggests a strong focus on engineering efficiency.

More Details Expected Soon

While rumours are building, Honour has not commented on the device, and further specifications are expected to surface over the coming months. If the leaks hold true, the Magic 8 Mini could become one of the thinnest compact flagships of the year.
