INSTAGRAM, a popular photo-sharing platform owned by social media giant Meta has made plenty of new updates including the new editing updates on Reels, to help creators unleash their creativity and earn more from their Reels content. During the product education workshop at the Mumbai office, the company showcased the new features.

What Are Instagram Gifts For Creators?

Much similar to other social media or video streaming platforms like YouTube, now the creators would be able to receive gifts from the fans who purchase them directly from the Instagram application using stars. The company has further mentioned that it would be rolling out the feature in the next few weeks.

“Every day, teens and creators use Instagram to convey their stories in novel ways. This occurs on Reels as well as other surfaces such as Feed, Stories, and DMs. We wanted to highlight these many use cases in order to stimulate innovation, as well as some new capabilities that would assist them in building an active community," Paras Sharma, Director of Content and Community Partnerships at Facebook India (Meta), said in a statement.

"On Instagram, viewers can buy stars and use them to send you gifts. Instagram will then provide you with a monthly revenue share from your Reels that received gifts equal to $.01 for every star received from fans," Instagram added.

What New Changes Have Been Made To Instagram Reel Editor?

Additionally, the business has worldwide announced new upgrades to its Reels editor, which will appear in the following several weeks. Features like Split, Speed, and Replace are part of the update. With "Split," users may now quickly divide a single clip into two segments, and with "Speed," they can instantly speed up or slow down their clips.

Users of Replace feature can change one clip in their reels with another without altering the timing or sequence of other clips, audio, or other features. Additionally, the business added GIF comments on posts and Reels, which are now accessible everywhere.
