JE Technology Desk: Instagram, a popular photo-sharing platform suffered a massive global outage during which the users were unable to access the platform and faced a lot of disruptions. The disruptions included inaccessibility to the news feed, and not being able to see the videos, stories, and reels on the platform. Not only was it limited to it, but the users also were not able to visit other users’ profiles as the application kept on highlighting ‘Sorry, couldn’t refresh feed’ and ‘something went wrong’.

Although the company hasn't released an official comment regarding the outage, we anticipate that technological difficulties may be to blame. On the other hand, Elon Musk's microblogging service Twitter is trending with the phrase "Instagram Down," and people have started trolling, and posting memes, thoughts, and other content on the site. Over a thousand instances of platform outages are displayed on Downdetector, an outage detection service.

According to DownDetector, a service that monitors online failures, 44% of users encountered problems with the app, 32% with the web version, and 24% with the server connection.

"Is Instagram down yet again?" Is the video and audio for Stories not loading? "#instagramdown," one user tweeted. "I'm thinking my account has been hacked because Instagram is down AGAIN," one person said. "Congratulations India, Everyone going to Twitter to check if Instagram is down #instagramdown," another user commented.

"Is anyone else on Instagram having issues with their stories' music or video not loading or is it just me?" one user tweeted. Instagram came back up last month after being offline for nearly an hour due to problems with the programs.

Meanwhile, the company also witnessed a massive global outage last month also, wherein, the users were not able to access the news feed.
