Instagram, a popular photo-sharing platform known for constantly adding new features, is reportedly testing a new 'Interested' option for recommended posts, which aims to allow users to indicate what they are interested in. According to the company, the new feature will assist the platform in showing users posts that they are interested in.
The company also described ranking in the blog post in order to help users get the most out of the platform and to help content creators understand how their work might be displayed.
"We employ a number of algorithms, classifiers, and processes, each with its own function. We want to make the best use of people's time, and we believe that using technology to personalise everyone's experience is the best way to do so," the company added.

The application's various features, such as Feed, Stories, Explore, Reels, Search, and more, each employ a special algorithm created to maximise user experience. Using it, the content creators put their content on the platform in order to get more reach and now, the platform aims to give more control to them and enhance the experience.
"We want people and creators to have control over their Instagram experience, and we're always looking for ways to improve the app's transparency and control," it said.
Meanwhile, the company is reportedly developing a new platform that will be taking on the popular micro-blogging platform Twitter which is owned by billionaire Elon Musk. It will be much similar in its applications and is expected to make its debut by the end of this month.
As per the teasers shared by the company, the upcoming micro-blogging platform comes with an Insta-like interface and is likely to come with a Twitter-like feature including the threads and more.
