INSTAGRAM, a popular photo-sharing platform owned by Meta Inc has been making a lot of changes to its user interface lately. Now in the latest update, the platform will be adding ads to the platform's search results to reach people actively searching for businesses, products, and content.

The platform has made several changes as a part of its improved business strategy including the discontinuation of the live shopping features and the changed placement of the buttons.

When users tap on a post from search results, the photo-sharing platform will now appear in a feed that they can navigate through. In a blog post, the business stated, "We hope to launch this placement globally in the coming months."

Additionally, Instagram said that "Reminder" ads are now available in feeds for all advertisers. The purpose of the move is to aid advertisers in raising awareness, interest, and consideration for impending events.

"Users may sign up for handy reminders and receive three notifications from Instagram one day before, 15 minutes before, and during the event," Instagram explained.

Looking at the pattern of its massive user base, the company has discovered that users come onto the platform to discover new brands, products, and upcoming events. Further, the company said, it aims to give businesses more ways to get discovered and form meaningful connections.

"We recently teamed with brands like Starz to test a new ad style that makes it easier for businesses to advertise, remind, and tell customers about future events or launches that they might be interested in," the company said.

Meanwhile, on March 16, the site removed the live shopping option in order to focus more on the ad business. Ads can now be found on the Explore page, Explore feeds, Reels, Stories, and even user profiles.
