WWDC 2023, also known as Worldwide Developers Conference during which the tech giant Apple will announce the next generation iOS 17 for all the eligible iPhones, is expected to come up with some major upgrades, including a more friendly user interface along with a slew of new features like lock screen changes.

Apple Maps will be updated with a new Live Activity feature in the upcoming iOS 17, according to a Twitter tipster who recently shared a new update. A large view of the Maps app would be provided to the user, and the time and date would be displayed at the top of the screen, much like Apple Music does on the lock screen.

The tipster also provided a screenshot showing the maps' current location and directions. By far, iOS 16 has enabled users to see a full view of Maps on the lock screen, complete with estimated time, kilometres, and time.

According to the report, the company's goal is to enable users to navigate while viewing additional information on the lock screen. The report further suggests that the user would now be able to change the lock screen's size whenever they need to, which would make it a very useful feature.

Users were previously unable to view notifications while navigating, but iOS 17 will make it possible to do so with just a simple swipe up. According to the report, this will be confirmed and available for all iPhones that qualify.

More lock screen changes are anticipated in iOS 17, including ones to the design and the availability of song lyrics from Apple Music on the lock screen, among other things. The report also emphasises that the company might make some adjustments to the flashlight's brightness.

Not only that, but Apple fans are also anticipating a new MacBook Air, WatchOS, MacOS, and tvOS, as well as a few other devices at the 2023 WWDC, which is scheduled to take place on June 5.
