Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch the iPhone 15 series across the world this year in September. While it has been heavily scrutinised by the rumour mill before launch, Apple's highly-anticipated project - the iPhone 15 Ultra has grabbed comparatively lesser eyeballs. But the latest leaks reveal that the 15 Pro Max may get a new name - 'iPhone 15 Ultra' this year.

According to X (formerly Twitter) user Andrew O'Hara, who is a journalist at Apple Insider, claims multiple sources have confirmed to him that the iPhone 15 Ultra could be none other than the 15 Pro Max. He added that this rumour got "backpedalled" after the initial days of the leaks saga.

"Here's a late Friday tidbit I've heard for #iPhone15. Multiple sources have told me Apple will indeed use the "iPhone 15 Ultra" monicker for the plus-sized pro phone. This was an early rumour that got backpedaled. Most have since referred to it as iPhone 15 Pro Max," the journalist added on X.

The differentiating factor between the 15 Pro and 15 Ultra is unclear at the moment. But leaks have revealed extensive details about the upcoming phones.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max Leaks:

Coming to other leaks about the device, the 15 Pro Max could have slimmer bezels this year. Plus, as per reports, the company might introduce a 2TB variant of the device this year. The Pro models may come with a titanium frame and an Action Button that will likely replace the Mute toggle.

Plus, a USB Type-C port will likely replace the Lightning connector on all upcoming iPhones this year. The phone could ship with a 3nm A17 Bionic chip. As for photography, the device could have a better zoom range because of the 10X periscope lens. Considering all these upgrades, the 15 Pro Max (or the Ultra) may start from $1,299, which would be $200 more expensive compared to its predecessor.
