Apple iPhone 16 Series Features: After Apple’s ‘It’s Glowtime’ event, one of the major talking points is the addition of a new dedicated button called the Camera Control button. The new button is offered with the entire iPhone 16 series and promises to offer a DSLR-like camera experience to iPhone users.
Not only that, the company has introduced four new studio-quality mics that preserve true-to-life recorded sounds in the Pro variant and now it seems that the iPhone wants to retain its dominance as the ‘favourites’ for content creators and photography lovers.
Coming back, the Camera Control button, integrated into the frame of the iPhone 16 series lets the user quick access to camera functions. It is made of sapphire crystal for durability and coated with the colour-matched stainless steel trim.
The Camera Control button is basically a capacitive touch-like button that lets you light press, tap, and slide to access camera features. It uses a high-precision force sensor which mimics the feel of a DSLR shutter with haptic feedback. It will also be working with third-party apps like Snapchat and others.
How Does Camera Control Button Work?
Apple has introduced the Camera Control button with touch-based actions. Here’s everything you could do with the touch-based actions.
Single Click: will launch the camera app and another click will capture a photo.
Video Mode: A quick click starts and stops recording seamlessly.
Light Press will open zoom controls in a new interface just below the button.
Double Light Press will show a sliding menu with additional settings including exposure and depth of field.
If you have an iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max, the button also acts as a two-stage shutter function. A light press will allow the user to fix and lock the focus and exposure giving users the freedom to reframe their shot without losing the settings.
Visual Intelligence
The tech giant has also introduced Visual Intelligence, a feature that allows users to use Camera Control in different ways. By clicking and holding the button within the Camera app, the users can get information about the objects and surroundings. It can also help users with information, set reminders and much more. It will be rolled out to users in the coming months.
