iPhone 16 Leaks: Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone 16 series next month (likely on September 10, 2024). The lineup will likely include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman hinted the lineup may not look "meaningfully different' or ship with any major features. Gurman noted the iPhone 16 series will likely run Apple Intelligence, Apple's AI features suite.
In his latest edition of 'Power On', he noted Apple Intelligence may not prove among the top reasons to upgrade to the upcoming models. Apart from AI, all models may sport an Action button. As for the rumoured 'Capture' button, Gurman said it could be present "at least on the new Pro" models. It could support press and swipe functions during photography and videography.
The Pro models this year could get a larger display. iPhone 16 Pro could move to 6.3-inch (6.1-inch currently) and the iPhone 16 Pro Max may move to 6.9-inch (6.7-inch on the current top-end iPhone). As for the colours, blue might retire in favour of rose gold. While Gurman tips an A18 chipset, it remains unclear whether this will be available on all models or remain exclusive to the Pro trims.

Gurman speculated the next year could be more exciting for Apple iPhones. The iPhone SE is expected to arrive with a sharper OLED display (with an iPhone 14-like notch), Apple Intelligence and a speculative price of about $500. In September 2025, Apple could introduce a notable slimmer model which may lie between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro.
The rumoured iPhone 17 Slim could be slightly toned down compared to the iPhone 17 Pro in terms of performance, camera and display but have a better design. The SE and the slim trim may drive notable growth for the iPhone maker next year. The company may plan to integrate Pro-level performance on the slimmer trim by 2027. Lastly, Gurman also shared that Apple may introduce a foldable iPad before launching a folding Apple phone.
