iPhone 17 update: Apple is gearing up for a big reveal this September, and it is expected that the company will launch the iPhone 17 series, and early leaks suggest it could be one of the most significant upgrades the company has rolled out in years. From better displays and cameras to a faster chip, the upcoming lineup is expected to raise the bar — and introduce an entirely new model.
Four iPhones, One Newcomer: Meet the iPhone 17 Air
This year’s iPhone family is likely to include four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a brand-new entry — the iPhone 17 Air. According to tipster Majin Bu, images of phone cases for all four variants have already surfaced online, adding fuel to the speculation. Interestingly, some of these accessories are reportedly up for pre-order via DMs on X (formerly Twitter), even though Apple’s announcement is still months away.

What’s Different About the iPhone 17 Air?
The iPhone 17 Air is shaping up to be a lighter, slimmer alternative to the rest of the series — possibly replacing the Plus model from previous years. Leaks suggest it will feature a 6.6-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, likely aiming to balance portability and performance. It may also ship with a single rear camera and run on Apple’s next-gen A19 chip, which promises faster speeds and greater efficiency.
Price Hikes May Be Coming
A recent Wall Street Journal report indicates that Apple is preparing to raise prices for the iPhone 17 series. While part of the increase may be due to higher import tariffs, Apple is reportedly justifying the hike by pointing to substantial design upgrades and new features — including the ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air. This model, in particular, is being positioned as a key part of Apple’s premium pricing strategy.
Expected Prices in Key Markets
In India, the base model of the iPhone 17 series could start around ₹89,900, while the Pro Max might climb to ₹1,64,900. U.S. pricing is expected to begin at $899. Meanwhile, in Dubai, the starting price could be AED 3,799. Due to taxes and duties, the top-tier Pro Max could exceed $2,300 in certain countries.
Apple hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but if the leaks hold true, this fall could bring one of the boldest iPhone lineups we've seen in a while — with the iPhone 17 Air poised to be the standout.
