Samsung One UI 8 Release Timeline: Google has officially announced that Android 16 will launch in June 2025, earlier than most expected. Naturally, this has sparked curiosity among Samsung users wondering when their Galaxy devices will get the update—complete with Samsung’s signature skin, One UI 8.

Thankfully, Samsung has started shedding light on its timeline. In a recent video published on the official Android YouTube channel, Minseok Kang, Vice President and Head of Smartphone Planning at Samsung Electronics, shared an update that many had been waiting for. According to Kang, One UI 8 will roll out “this summer.”

Now, “this summer” still leaves room for interpretation—it technically spans from June through September—but it’s clear Samsung is aiming for a more efficient rollout compared to last year. That’s especially reassuring for users who were frustrated by the delayed and buggy launch of One UI 7.

Unlike its predecessor, One UI 8 is shaping up to be a more modest update, with a stronger emphasis on speed and refinement rather than major visual changes. That could mean a quicker, more stable release across devices.

In fact, there’s growing buzz that a One UI 8 beta could be released by the end of this month. If that’s true, Samsung might push out the stable version as early as July or August, a noticeably faster pace than before.

Samsung hasn’t dropped an official compatibility list yet, but going by previous years, it’s a safe bet that the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series will be the first in line. And for those eyeing the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, both are expected to launch with One UI 8 and Android 16 pre-installed.

All signs are pointing to a smoother software rollout this year—and if Samsung sticks to its summer window, Galaxy users might not have to wait long at all.
