LAVA's transition across its lineup, including the new mid-range segment, has impressed the devices, and the company has now entered the wearables market with its Prowatch series. The Indian smartphone brand has always promised to provide the best-in-class experience with top-tier features at an affordable price, and now with the Prowatch, the company hopes to capture the smartwatch category under Rs 3000. We recently tried out the Prowatch ZN, the series' flagship watch, but is it worth the hype? Find out below.
Lava ProWatch ZN Design:
Lava Prowatch ZN, the brand's first smartwatch, features a sleek circular design with a metal casing for a touch of premiumness. However, the watch has some bezels that blend in with the body perfectly and will not be wrong to say it feels like a no-bezel design. On the right side of the device, there is a functional crown for daily functions as well as a button that allows you to navigate. The strap is lightweight and comfortable, but I was disappointed with the quality, which felt like a smudge.
Lava ProWatch ZN Display:
Personally, I've never liked the displays on low-cost smartwatches, but not anymore. I'm very impressed with the Lava's 1.43-inch AMOLED display. Not only that, but the watch features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, which will help you avoid scratches. The smartwatch's peak brightness is 600 nits, and the refresh rate is 60 Hz. Overall, a buttery smooth screen with excellent response.
Lava ProWatch ZN Features:
Bluetooth Calling, Quick Reply App Notifications, Games, and a Calculator are among the features included with the Prowatch ZN. It features a PPG sensor for continuous heart rate monitoring, daily fitness tracking, stress measurement, breath training, and sleep monitoring. Overall, it includes 110+ sports modes that can help you track your daily activities. It also gets an always-on display for greater convenience.
Now the question arises: are these features even functional, and if so, are they accurate? Answers based on my review are unambiguously yes. The smartwatch produces relatively precise results. It gets close to 150 watch faces which can be directly imported from the Prospot application. However, I personally feel that there are not many good watch faces. It also gets IP68 certification making it compatible with your swimming sessions.
Lava ProWatch ZN Battery Backup:
Lava provided a 350mAh battery, which appears to be more than sufficient. I've been using the watch for a few weeks now, and it's impressed me with what it offers. My average usage includes the calling feature, Always on Display (Aod), monitoring my daily sprints and more, and it has provided me with approximately three days of backup. You can even expect over a week of battery life with average usage without Always on display.
Lava ProWatch ZN Prospot App:
Lava did a great job by making a simple and user-friendly interface wherein you can definitely check out your stats, and personalised insights and set the watch faces on the go. You can change your goals, and see how much distance you travelled or how many calories you burned on a daily basis.
Lava ProWatch ZN Should You Buy It?
At a reasonable price of Rs 2,599, Lava's offering stands out as a discerning choice in a sea of overhyped gimmicks. Unlike its competitors who sell LCD facades masquerading as AMOLED glitter, Lava offers a bright panel and functional features. You also get a ton of features including Bluetooth calling, and quick notification replies along with a massive battery pack and a premium design, making it worth your money.
