iPhone 17 Series Update: The iPhone 17 series is expected to be unveiled in the latter half of this year, and it looks like Apple has some exciting changes in store for its upcoming lineup. Rumor has it that the new family of iPhones will include a fresh variant— the iPhone 17 Air (or possibly iPhone Slim) — which will replace the 'Plus' version that we’ve seen in previous models. While the iPhone 17 has been the subject of several leaks, including hints about its unique design, we’ve now gotten a sneak peek at what the rear camera design could look like for the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, thanks to some alleged renders.
iPhone 17 Series Design Leaked Through Renders
Tipster Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) shared CAD (computer-aided design) renders on X, showing the possible designs of the iPhone 17 models (from left to right: iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max). According to these renders, the base iPhone 17 looks similar to last year's iPhone 16, with a vertical camera setup. However, the iPhone 17 Air appears to have a simpler, single rear camera placed within a horizontally aligned camera bump, offering a unique design that sets it apart from the other models in the series.

As for the Pro models, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, they are shown sporting dual-tone rear panels. These models also seem to feature squarer camera bumps, much like the ones found on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. There’s already buzz around potential design changes for these devices, with earlier leaks hinting that the iPhone 17 Pro could adopt a Pixel-style camera layout, which could be a huge shift in Apple’s design philosophy.
While all these details are based on leaks, and it’s still a few months before the official launch, it’s important to take this information with a pinch of salt. As we get closer to the expected launch date, we’ll likely see more leaks surface, giving us a clearer idea of what to expect.
What's Under the Hood?
As for the internals, it’s believed that the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature an aluminium frame and run on Apple's upcoming A19 Pro chip, with 12GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air (or Slim) are expected to pack either an A18 or A19 chip, coupled with 8GB of RAM.
With all this in mind, it looks like Apple is set to bring some major updates to the iPhone 17 series, and we’re excited to see how these potential design and performance upgrades will shape the next generation of iPhones. Of course, more details are sure to emerge over the coming months, so stay tuned!
