LG AI Agent: LG is all set to present its latest AI agent at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next year. It gets "robotic, AI and multi-modal" technologies that help the agent understand and engage with complex situations. According to LG, it can serve as a home manager and companion to further the company's "Zero Labour Home" vision.
The robot has a "two-legged" wheel to navigate across the premises and can interact verbally. Plus, it can express emotions via movements from its leg joints. The gadget's multi-modal capabilities can blend voice and image recognition tools with natural language processing to let the AI robot comprehend the context and intentions and communicate accordingly with its users.
The LG agent can also control smart home devices. It ships with a Qualcomm Robotics RB5 platform for AI-based face and user detection. Plus, the AI agent can collect real-time data on temperature, humidity and air quality via the onboard sensors, camera and speaker.

It can also serve as your "pet monitor and security guard" and send alerts to users in case of unusual activity. The robot can patrol the house when no one is at the house and send alerts notifying about open windows and active appliances. Based on its capabilities, it can also turn off the smart devices.
Once the owner is home, it can greet them, analyse emotions based on voice and facial cues, and adapt music and more based on their mood. The innovation can offer transportation guides, weather information, schedule updates and medication reminders. According to LG, the aim is to free users from household chores with the robot. The AI agent will be presented at the CES 2024 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 9-12. The company has not shared details about the price or launch date of the AI agent at the time of filing.
