The Government of India will launch the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign on August 9 to honour the brave hearts of India. This latest campaign marks the finale of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and will be live until August 30. According to the official website, the campaign has a tagline: "Maati Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandan".
The "Jan Bhagidari" initiative aims to celebrate the multifaceted achievements of the country and pay tribute to the brave "Veers" who protect India's sovereignty. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann Ki Baat (on July 30), announced this campaign for the first time. Ceremonies to commemorate the celebrations would be conducted at all levels. "Dedication of Shilaphalakam-installation of nameplate of Veers, taking the Panch Pran Pledge, creation of Amrit Vatika with 75 saplings of indigenous plants, honouring freedom fighters/braves, hoisting of National Flag and singing National Anthem."
The centre-piece of the campaign is the 'Take Pledge' initiative, which can be completed in four steps from the web portal.
Step 1: A user needs to enter details such as name, contact number, state, district, block, and panchayat.
Step 2: Plant a sapling
Step 3: Recite the Amrit Kaal Pledge displayed on the screen
Step 4: Click pictures of the activity and upload them on the platform

A certificate will be generated once the user completes the process. The pictures are stored in an image bank and may be displayed on the Pledge Page. Besides images, users can also create digital memorials.
For context, according to Saurav Bhaik, Founder and CEO of Tagbin, more than 2.5 crore videos were uploaded in the Rastragaan campaign. Plus, six crore+ selfies were shared in the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative.
The web platform for the current campaign has been developed by Tagbin, a tech-experiential company, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
