FACEBOOK is one of the most popular platforms of Meta that caters to a large audience worldwide. In its attempt to better serve its Facebook Watch users, Meta has announced the addition of Reels to the navigation menu of Facebook Watch and more personalisation options.
Additionally, a user can scroll between reels and long-form videos on Facebook seamlessly now. Meta, in a Newsroom post, highlighted that people reshare reels across the platforms of Meta over 2 billion times in a day.
"We're making it easier to discover Reels on Facebook by adding them to the top of the Watch tab and introducing new controls so you can give us feedback on content you want to see more or less of," Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO, Meta posted on Facebook. Here are the new changes that the parent company has announced.
Discovering Reels is now easy
Facebook Watch will get Reels in the main navigation menu at the top to allow the user to access these short-form videos. It will help a user discover Reels content easily. Further, a user can now scroll across Reels and videos on Facebook.
Optimise Reels suggestions
By tapping the three-dot menu placed "at the bottom of the video player" and selecting an option from the two available choices, a user can optimise Reels recommendations. The available options include - Show more and Show less. In case a user opts for "Show more," Facebook will push more videos on that topic. And if a user opts for "Show less," content suggestions will be restricted. This will help improve the ranking of reels and deliver a personalised experience.
Contextual Labels
New labels within the video player of Reels will now explain why a user was recommended certain reels. Meta states an example as "because a friend of yours liked it" in the post.
Meanwhile, Meta recently announced support for 90-second videos on Reels. Speaking of new updates on other Meta platforms, Instagram Reels received new features to simplify the editing process, give more insights on trends, allow performance metrics of Reels and more.
