META, in a blog, shared the updated pricing for the Virtual Reality (VR) headsets. The Meta Quest 2 (256GB) will available for $429 and the Quest Pro will cost $999. The price of Meta Quest 2(128GB) remains unaffected. From immersive multimedia viewing to enjoying games in VR, this can be a golden opportunity to grab a headset for your needs.

Quest 2 has undergone a price cut from the original pricing of $499 and Quest Pro reduced from the initial $1499 mark. The goal of the company is to make hardware ”affordable for as many people as possible to take advantage of all that VR has to offer.” The headset comes with inside-out tracking and wireless connectivity. Meta is offering GOLF+ and Space Pirate Trainer DX worth $49 for activation for free till March 6, 2023, with the headset.
Designed for users of over 13 years, the Quest 2 comes “with 20 pixels per degree visuals and a Fast-Switch LCD Display spanning 1832 x1920 pixels per eye.” It comes with Touch Controls and hand tracking technology. Powering the headset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Platform with 6GB of RAM.
Quest Pro
Quest Pro is Meta’s most advanced headset designed for businesses and professionals across the globe. It comes with 4 times the resolution of Quest 2 and allows work and collaboration in the virtual circles with enhanced precision. Plus, It has real-time expression tracking and 5 infrared face and eye trackers. The headset comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Quest 2 and Quest Pro Availability At New Price
The new pricing will come into effect from March 5 for Quest 2 in “Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the UK, and the US,” according to Meta.
On the other hand, the Quest Pro will sell at the updated pricing in the US and Canada from March 5. In other countries, the lower price tag will go live on March 15. However, the pricing can vary depending on the location.
According to leaks and rumours, Apple might unveil its VR/AR headset models at the spring event. However, this is yet to be confirmed by official channels. The pricing information is yet to be out. However, it might come at similar pricing to Meta’s VR counterpart.
