JE Technology Desk: Ever since billionaire Elon Musk has taken over the micro-blogging platform Twitter, users have been looking for alternatives. It could be because of the new features, or the subscription that has been implemented to the platform. Due to this many emerging platforms such as Mastodon, and Bluesky have gained popularity, and social media giants like Meta are already developing a Twitter rival with a codename Project 92.

A screenshot obtained by The Verge displaying the general user interface has now leaked online in a new version. The platform’s screenshot was reportedly grabbed when Meta executives were presenting it to their employees. The leaked slide graphic indicates that Project 92 is approaching. The graphic also provides other insights about the application's three user interfaces, including Feed and Reply.

The sign-in page of the platform, called SSO, is also showcased which hints that the new Twitter rival would support Instagram accounts as well. However, the application is said to be a stand-alone application and would be known as Threads.

According to the report, ActivityPub, a decentralised social media networking protocol, would power Project 92, which is why it is anticipated that it will support other ActivityPub applications like Mastodon. For the unversed, users would be able to transfer their accounts and followers to other programs using the same login information.

Speaking of the user experience, one would anticipate seeing the name, verified badge, news feed, and shred post in the future program, which appears to have a UI that is rather similar to that of Twitter. Options for liking, commenting, resharing, and sharing on other sites will be available. Additionally, it would contain a home screen, search, a new post composition screen, liked post checking, and your own profile. Even the respond feature has a Twitter-like appearance.
