Microsoft has introduced a new feature for Windows 11 Insider versions to improve user experience and creative capabilities. The software giant is releasing a new "background removal" capability in its popular Paint app.

Microsoft's latest update introduces the background removal feature, which allows users to easily remove backgrounds from their photographs with a single click. The feature is offered by selective photo editing platforms some of which need paid subscriptions.

Microsoft stated in a recent blog post: "With background removal, you can now automatically remove the background of any image in just one click, leaving a smooth cutout of the subject." Either the entire canvas or a selection made with the selection tool can reveal the subject.

Users only need to import or paste their preferred information onto the Paint app's canvas in order to fully utilise the feature of this new tool. After that, find the erase background button in the toolbar and click it to activate. Rectangle pick is an option that customers can use to choose an area for background removal if they need more exact control.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has announced plans to remove WordPad, a word processor that has been a part of Windows since 1995. The business has chosen to stop updating WordPad and will remove it from future Windows editions. Instead, Microsoft Word is recommended for rich text documents such as .doc and .rtf, noting its improved capabilities over the outdated WordPad. Microsoft recommends Windows Notepad for plain text documents such as .txt.
