Microsoft is clearly working on AI-related products and it has made it evident during its Build 2023 annual developer event. Along with some key announcements related to Bing AI, and Windows 11 Copilot, the tech giant has also launched Fabric which is an end-to-end data and analytics platform.
The newly introduced platform is focused on the OneLake data lake but can access the data from Amazon S3 and Google Cloud. The company further announced that the platform would integrate Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI in a single unit specially for the business professionals to create relevant data.
Here are the five key points about Microsoft Fabric:
1. Fabric Is One Stop Solution
The platform as a whole may assist developers in extracting information from a set of data and presenting it to businesses, the company at Build 2023 announced. Users could immediately benefit from it as a software as a service (SaaS) that is automatically optimised.
2. Fabric OneLake
OneLake, which is incorporated into the platform and readily available to every Fabric tenant, has been introduced by the firm. The data is automatically indexed and structured in a user-friendly data hub for easy discovery, sharing, governance, and compliance.
3. AI-Powered
Users of Microsoft Fabric will be able to design data flows, generate codes and whole functions, even create machine learning models, and visualise findings using human-like interactions. The conversational language also combines the models and data from the Azure OpenAI Service and publishes them as plug-ins.
4. Microsoft Fabric For Businesses
The Fabric includes the most popular Microsoft 365 apps, empowering every organisation.
5. Fabric Is Cost Effective
The company also disclosed during the event that using Fabric makes managing resources and making purchases easier. Costs can be cut with the unified resource because any spare computing power in one workload can be used by another.
