Microsoft, which has been regularly updating its video calling platform Teams with new features, has today announced that the new Collaborative notes tool is now available for public preview on the public preview channel. The business hopes that by simplifying the process of producing agendas and action items, this innovation will improve the meeting experience.
Collaborative notes, which are considered Loop components, sync across all platforms where they have been shared, including Outlook, Teams chat, the Loop app, Word for the web, and Whiteboard, the business claims.
In order to start creating an agenda before a meeting, users can share the Collaborative notes in a Teams chat or via email. This will guarantee that everyone can include their topics for review with the group regardless of their chosen Microsoft app.
"We're excited to share a public preview of Collaborative notes, a new way to drive your work forward by collaborating on the agenda, taking notes together, and tracking follow-up tasks." "Collaborative notes eliminate the typical bottleneck of a single note-taker capturing the agenda and notes while also making them visible to everyone, improving accuracy and inclusion at every stage of your meeting," Microsoft wrote in a blog post.
During the meeting, everyone can create and assign tasks, co-edit meeting notes, and add last-minute agenda items. According to the firm, participants may click on any paragraph to discover who wrote it and can also see who is working in the Collaborative notes at the top.
Users can also enable their team to edit notes, complete tasks as they go along, and add new follow-up items from any location.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has officially announced that the June outage of Outlook that happened on June 5 happened due to a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack. In a blog post, it further provided some technical details and tips to avoid such attacks.
