ARTIFICIAL Intelligence has been the buzzword this quarter. Be it Microsoft, Google or other big tech companies, they continue to invest in the technology to harness its potential and gain business out of it. Search engines and chatbots are among the existing beneficiaries of this technology. And Artifact is among the latest addition.
Backed by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, co-founders of Instagram, Artifact is an AI-based news application. It learns from user behaviour and serves them a tailor-made platter of articles. The user can explore varying topics to interact with the application. Kevin Systrom announced the launch of the app on Twitter via an introductory reel.

"Discover interesting articles and stay on top of important headlines. Artifact is a free app that learns your interests and brings you the best articles the web has to offer", the app description reads on Google Play Store.
After signing in, the user will have to choose at least 10 topics to configure a personalised experience. The experience will alter depending on your changes according to these interest subjects.
Artifact recommends that a user read a minimum of 25 stories in two weeks. This activity will be helpful to personalise the feed based on the preference for a particular news platform or interest, according to an Indian Express article. The platform will give readers an option to add subscriptions which will be given precedence over other content, the report adds.
The built-in AI will help stack interest-driven topics in one place and brush away the news that the user is less likely to read. Artifact’s weekly updates cycle will add new features to the app, according to the information posted on Play Store. After an early access build open to a confined audience, the app is finally open to all users of smartphones. You can download the app from Google Play Store on Android or App Store on iOS.
