Nothing has unveiled the third generation of its flagship earbuds, the Ear 3, staying true to its transparent design identity while adding some standout features. The biggest highlight this year is the introduction of a “Super Mic” built directly into the charging case, aimed at delivering much clearer conversations.
At first glance, the Ear 3 feels familiar. The earbuds retain Nothing’s signature transparent stems with subtle branding, while the case now sports a metallic finish paired with a see-through lid. For existing users of the Ear series, the design will strike a chord of continuity.

A case that doubles as a mic
Ahead of launch, Nothing had teased a new Talk button on the case. Pressing it activates the Super Mic—a dual-microphone setup inside the charging case designed to suppress up to 95 dB of external noise while amplifying the speaker’s voice. Beyond calls, this function can also be used for recording voice notes.
On Nothing smartphones, these recordings are saved directly to Essential Space and automatically transcribed. On other devices, the recordings are stored in the native voice recorder app.
Packed with audio upgrades
Alongside the Super Mic, the Ear 3 offers up to 45 dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and features 12 mm dynamic drivers for punchy sound with spatial audio support. Each earbud carries three directional microphones and a bone-conduction Voice Pick-up Unit (VPU) that detects subtle vibrations from the jaw and ear canal. This setup helps reduce background noise and ensures clarity, even in windy conditions — with the company claiming up to 25 dB of wind noise reduction.
Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.4 with dual-device support. The earbuds have 55mAh batteries each, while the case houses a 500mAh cell, delivering up to 38 hours of playback in total. Wireless charging is also supported. Both earbuds and the case are IP54 rated, making them resistant to dust and splashes.
