OnePlus 12 To Come With Massive Upgrades Later This Year; Check Specs, Launch Date

JE Technology Desk: OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone maker, recently announced that the highly anticipated OnePlus Nord 3 and Nord Buds 2r would launch soon in India after the gadgets underwent scrutiny by the rumour mill. And in the latest move, tipster Yogesh Brar has leaked details about the OnePlus 12 along with an expected launch timeline.

According to the information shared on Twitter, the company is "finally listening to the user feedback," and the upcoming flagship will sport an improved screen and new imaging sensor, among other upgrades.

OnePlus 12 may have a 'new gen' screen

The OnePlus 12 will have a new generation screen. For context, the current OnePlus 11 5G boasts a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz Super Fluid AMOLED LTPO 10-bit display with Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

OnePlus 12 may get 'new imaging' sensors

Another upgrade promised in the phone by Brar is a new camera sensor. GSMArena speculates a 1-inch camera lens and an upgraded telephoto lens. The OnePlus 11 has a 50MP primary, 48MP ultra-wide and a 32MP telephoto sensor on the back, and a 16MP selfie camera.

OnePlus 12 will likely get 'faster charging'

The company may bring "faster charging" technology to the upcoming flagship. OnePlus 11 ships with 100W SUPERVOOC charging.

OnePlus 12 could have a symmetrical design

While not many details are out, a symmetrical design could imply shifting the camera sensor to the centre, unlike the left placement on the OnePlus 11.

In a previous tweet, the tipster revealed that the OnePlus 12 may have a 6.7-inch QHD OLED screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it could run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. To power the internal components, a 5,000mAh battery could sit inside the phone. As for the optics, it may have a 50MP primary lens, 50MP ultra-wide and a 64MP periscope lens.

According to Brar, the upcoming smartphone will launch in China in December and debut globally in the first quarter of next year.
