OpenAI AI Agents: OpenAI is expected to drop several 'AI agent' products in order to drive its revenue growth. But the thing is that the company might charge up to $20,000 a month for these specialized 'AI Agents' which will be crafted to execute tasks that relate to software engineering and research, as per a report by The Information.

According to the report, OpenAI is planning to introduce a "high-income knowledge worker" agent, which will be priced at $2,000 for a month's access. A soon-to-be-released software developer agent is reportedly priced at $10,000 per month.

Furthermore, the company's most costly agent which is designed to carry out PhD level research will reportedly cost $20,000 per month.

Although the launch date for OpenAI's AI agent-based tools remains uncertain, The Information reported that its investor, SoftBank, has committed $3 billion to OpenAI’s agent products this year.

In February of 2025, OpenAI dropped a new AI tool known as Deep Research which can gather information from all over the internet and can synthesize it to form a comprehensive report at a level that a research analyst can. Another thing that made its debut only last week was OpenAI's GPT-4.5 model which has an enhanced ability to recognise patterns and generate creative insights without reasoning.
