Oppo Find N5 launched: Oppo Find N5 was launched globally on Thursday, which is the latest book-style foldable smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker. This latest series device is successor to the N3 which was launched in 2023. The powerhouse behind the N5 is the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which enables the smartphone to support on-device and cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The company claims that its latest flexion hinge design is 36% more rigid than the previous version, all thanks to the newly employed titanium alloy for the plate build of the wing. Oppo also claims that it is the "world's thinnest foldable" phone with a thickness of 8.93mm when folded and weighs 229g.

The pricing for the 16GB+512GB storage variant is SGD 2,499 and you will get it in Misty White and Cosmic Black colourways. Starting Feb 28 it will be available for purchase in Singapore.

Display

The Oppo N5 that supports dual SIM connectivity will run on Android 15-based ColorOS 15. It features a massive 8.12-inch 2K(2,480x2,248) LTPO AMOLED display with 412ppi pixel density and a dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen on the inside will have a touch response rate of up to 240Hz and a solid peak brightness of up to 2,100 nits.

The company also mentions that it has earned TÜV Rheinland's minimized crease certification. For protection, the display features ultra-thin glass (UTG). Additionally, the foldable smartphone is equipped with a cover screen, boasting a 6.62-inch 2K AMOLED display (2,616 x 1,140 pixels), offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a pixel density of 431ppi.

The Find N5 will run on the formidable Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset clubbed with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 of UFS 4.0 onboard storage. The device also sports a second-generation 3nm architecture with a Hexagon NPU and is claimed to be 45% more efficient in AI performance, and is also paired with an Adreno 830 GPU.

AI Features

It also comes packed with AI features such as AI Search, for seamlessly searching queries right from the home screen. It also has an AI Call Summary feature that transcribes, generates summaries and creates action points based on the call transcript. The Find N5 is said to offer dual-screen translation and interpreting capabilities. It also comes with the Oppo AI Toolbox, which features AI Summary, AI Speak, and AI Writer—tools designed to enhance reading and writing using AI. Powered by ColorOS 15, the phone also includes a range of photo-editing tools like AI Clarity Enhance, AI Erase, and AI Unblur to further improve the user experience.

Camera

For clicking pictures the Oppo Find N5 comes with a Hasselblad-branded triple rear camera setup which encompasses a 50-megapixel f/1.8 main sensor with OIS and EIS and a 50-megapixel f/2.7 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS and a 50-megapixel ultrawide- angle lens with 116 degree field of view (FoV) and OIS. On the front the Find N5 sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera on both inner and outer display.

Connectivity

Connection-wise the Oppo N5 includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and a USB Type-C port. It also comes with stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device has a good 5,600 mAh dual-cell battery that supports 80W SUPERVOOC (wired) and 50W AIRVOOC (wireless) charging.
