Elon Musk’s X, which has been in the headlines for the recent policy changes and allowing users to post adult content on the micro-blogging platform has faced backlash all over the world. In the latest update, Elon Musk has said that he will ensure a porn-free experience for those who do not want such content. This comes after social networking sites have modified their guidelines to officially allow users to upload sexual and adult content.
"Would it be possible to have a function that allows us to use X without being exposed to it like a porn-free mode?" a user of X asked the billionaire if he would allow porn. In response, Musk stated, "This is a top priority," as governments around the globe keep putting restrictions on the dissemination of such content on social media.
Musk should "seriously provide transparent options for people" who do not want to see such ads in comment threads, according to a different user's comment. Another user on X said, "Just ban it altogether."
X contends that as long as sexually suggestive content is produced and disseminated in a consensual manner, users ought to be free to develop, share, and consume it. Artificial intelligence (AI)-generated sexual videos and photos are likewise covered by the new X standards.
It will be interesting to see how the Elon Musk-led platform will allow users to get rid of sexual and NSFW content on their feeds and maintain the balance between explicit content and other forms of content including opinions, memes, videos and more.
Elon Musk and his team have not disclosed how they want to filter explicit content on the platform, but we assume it to be a new filter or setting that allows users to filter information in their feeds.
