Qualcomm Technologies unveiled their vision of mobility in India at their Snapdragon for India: Auto Day event, emphasising smart, connected, and safe driving as key features of future mobility in India. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari attended as Chief Guest, illustrating growing synergies between authorities and businesses around artificial intelligence (AI), transportation technology (transportation networks) and deep technology applications; also central were Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions, which now feature in over 350 million vehicles around India.

Snapdragon Digital Chassis: Designed for India, Built for the World

Qualcomm’s Digital Chassis includes:

  • Snapdragon Cockpit—advanced infotainment and digital dash
  • Snapdragon Ride & Ride Flex – driver assistance and safety
  • Auto Connectivity—seamless 5G and V2X integrations
  • Car-to-Cloud services – real-time updates, diagnostics, and personalization

Qualcomm continues to expand its automotive R&D presence in India, now spanning the major tech hubs of Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Gurgaon. Qualcomm is not simply a vendor of technology; it is a partner in the co-creation of next-generation vehicles.

This initiative is dramatically widening the ecosystem by making sophisticated automotive technologies available to every class, be it budget vehicles or high-end motorcycles.

AI Meets Audio: will.i.am x Qualcomm

Qualcomm's collaboration with will.i.am is particularly interesting as he presented RAiDiO.FYI and Melodic Drive that turns vehicles into creative spaces. With Qualcomm's car sensing and processing systems, these audio systems actively work to the driver's performance of the car—using acceleration, brakes, and steering as ways to ‘perform’ music. It was showcased in Mahindra's BE 6 and XUV 9e EVs, which provides us with a preview of what 'connected creativity' means at the driving interface.

Safety, Comfort, and Real-Time Connectivity

Qualcomm and its partner organizations Bosch, Harman, Tata Elxsi and ZF demonstrated Snapdragon Ride's capabilities at their Qualcomm India Innovation Day event. These systems aim to improve safety and effectiveness for real-time alerts, driver assistance services, and high-end navigation across India's diverse driving landscape, making these services more accessible.
