Redmi Note 13 Pro vs Redmi Note 12 Pro: Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone maker, launched the latest iteration of its highly-anticipated Redmi Note series in China a few days ago. Like the previous Note 12 series, the catalogue comprises three models: Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus.

These smartphones will likely launch in India in late December 2023 or early January 2024. But how does the popular mid-model of the series compare to its predecessor - the Redmi Note 12 Pro? To give you an answer, here is a comparison of the Chinese variant of the Note 13 Pro with the Indian model of the Note 12 Pro.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro vs Redmi Note 13 Pro Specs Comparison

Note 13 Pro has a 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED 12-bit panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 1,800nits peak brightness. On the other hand, the Note 12 Pro has a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 900nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, the 13 Pro gets a 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Adreno 710 GPU. The older Note sports a Dimensity 1080 chip with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. Both phones run on the latest MIUI 14 (after a software update on the Note 12 Pro). The new Note gets a 5,100mAh battery with 67W charging. Note 12 Pro has a 5,000mAh cell with 67W charging.

As for the optics, the Note 13 Pro has a 200MP OIS main, 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens on the rear and a 16MP front camera. The older 12 Pro has a 50MP OIS main, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera on the back and a 16MP selfie shooter. As for extras, the new model gets an in-display fingerprint sensor compared to the side-mounted on the 12 Pro.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro's Chinese pricing starts from 1,499 yuan (which translates to Rs 17,500) and steeps at 2,099 yuan (approximately Rs 24,500). However, a user must note the price will likely be higher in India as these are mere currency conversion figures. Coming to the Note 12 Pro, the phone starts from Rs 23,999 and goes up to Rs 28,999 in the country.
