Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi announced the Redmi Note 13 series in China in September 2023. The popular handsets in the lineup: Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G debuted in India in January 2024. While we are months away from the launch of the successors of these smartphones, reports have started spilling hints about the upcoming products.

According to Gizmochina, XiaomiTime noted the Chinese smartphone maker is developing the series. The report noted the Note 14 series could launch in September this year. This may imply we are about 2.5 months away from the launch. For the unaware, the Note 13 series launched in China on September 21, 2023. The IMEI database listing hinted that three devices could debut in the lineup this year.

On the expected lines, the Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G could see the light of day later this year. These smartphones may launch in China in September (likely in the second half of the month). The release in other markets could take place in the upcoming months after the China release. The India release could follow early next year. Plus, a Note 14 series device was spotted in the source code of HyperOS.

Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G reportedly has an internal model number - 'O16U' and is codenamed "amethyst" (which is a purple variety of quartz in real life). XiaomiTime added the code names for Note devices are based on gemstones, and the trend could follow in the upcoming series. The report noted the devices could run HyperOS based on Android 14. For context, the Redmi Note 13 series runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box.

Meanwhile, reports earlier hinted the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G may get a 1.5K AMOLED display and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. It may have a larger battery pack compared to the existing offering. However, readers should note that Xiaomi or Redmi have not confirmed any of the details shared in the report. Hence, you should consider the details with a pinch of salt.
