Reliance Jio Fiber launched: Broadband plans from Rs 699 to Rs 8,499

New Delhi | Jagran Technology Desk: The much-awaited Reliance Jio GigaFiber, or simply Jio Fiber, was rolled out commercially on Thursday. The broadband services will benefit registered users to get a high-speed internet connection and smart home solutions. With its roll-out, the JioFiber offer one of the cheapest broadband plans and take on existing players like Bharti Airtel and ACT Fibernet.

Apart from the fixed internet connection, Jio Fiber connection is accompanied by fixed-line phone service, set-top-box capable of gaming, Free 4K TV and Jio IoT services.

Customers who are willing to get the JioFiber are required to visit the JIO GigaFiber website and book a High-speed internet connection for township and society. The online registration first let you pick the location for which you want the Jio Fiber broadband connection. After the location, the website will ask for your name, mobile number, e-mail, and address. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent on the registered number and have to be entered for verification.

After the registration, the company will get in touch with the applicant and get the router installed. The JioFiber will get activated within two hours after the installation.

With its roll-out Reliance Jio Fiber offers several plans for both monthly and long term. Here are the broadband plans offered by Jio:  

Monthly plans

Starting from Bronze (Rs 699 plan) which will offer 100 Mbps of speed with 100GB of data + 50 GB extra.

The silver plan (Rs 899) will offer 100 Mbps of speed with 200GB data + 200GB extra.

The gold plan (Rs 1299) will offer 250 Mbps of speed with 500 GB data + 250GB extra.

The diamond plan (Rs 2499) will offer 500 Mbps of speed with 1250 GB data + 250GB extra.

The platinum plan (Rs 3,999) will offer 1GBPS of speed with unlimited 2,500GB data.

The titanium plan (Rs 8,499) will offer 1GBPS of speed with 5,000GB unlimited data.

Jio will be available to consumers at around 10 percent price from global rates so that it is accessible to everyone and according to every budget and every need

Long term plans

1. Users of JioFiber will have 3, 6 and 12-month plans available.

2. Through the bank tie-up, Jio will provide attractive EMI plans, so that customers will continue to get the benefit of annual plans by paying only monthly EMI.

To woo the customers, Reliance has made the installation of JioFiber completely free. However, the company will charge Rs 2,500 (security deposit Rs 1,500 + Rs 1,000 non-refundable installation) for the JioFiber router, which is refundable if you discontinue the service.

Reliance Jio also announced the set-top-box (STB) that can show not only TV programs but also allow high-definition gaming. Jio set-top-box offer consumers access to all TV channels provided by the major Local Cable Operators (LCOs). Jio also plans to offer gaming, video calling, and VR and MR (Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality) services through its STB. 

Jio Fiber service will let its subscribers watch free OTT content from apps like JioCinema, JioTV, and JioSaavn. Another offer Jio is offering is the 'Jio First Day First Show' service for the premium JioFiber customers wherein the customer will get to watch a film at home on the day of release.

With the roll-out, JioFiber subscribers will get JioFiber services free for 2 months.

Jio Fiber broadband will be available across major cities and town of India. However, as of now, Giga Jio Fiber connections are available in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Surat, Vadodara, Chennai, Noida, Ghaziabad, Bhubaneshwar, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Surat, Agra, Meerut, Vizag, Lucknow, Jamshedpur, Haridwar, Gaya, Patna, Port Blair, Punjab and some more states.
