Samsung was widely expected to showcase its first extended reality (XR) headset, codenamed Project Moohan, later this month alongside its debut Galaxy trifold phone. However, new reports suggest both launches have been delayed.
According to ETNews, Samsung has rescheduled the Project Moohan unveiling for October 2025. The company is said to be taking extra time to refine the device’s overall “completeness” and align its internal marketing strategy before launch.

Samsung’s answer to Apple Vision Pro
Project Moohan will be Samsung’s first XR headset and is positioned as a direct rival to Apple’s Vision Pro. Samsung reportedly aims to manufacture around 100,000 units for the initial rollout, though output may change depending on demand.
Pricing is expected to be between 2.5 million and 4 million Korean won (roughly Rs 1.58 lakh to Rs 2.52 lakh). That puts it below the Vision Pro’s 4.86 million won (about Rs 3.07 lakh) but far above Meta’s Quest 3, which retails for around 690,000 won (Rs 44,000).
The headset is tipped to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 chip and a micro-OLED display boasting a sharp 3,800 PPI pixel density.
Galaxy Trifold arrives later this year
Samsung also appears to be taking a more cautious approach with its first trifold smartphone. Once the leader in foldables, the brand now trails Huawei, which recently launched its second trifold, the Mate XTs.
Instead of a joint reveal, the Galaxy trifold is now expected at a separate event toward late October or November. The device will reportedly use a different folding layout than Huawei’s version, with two panels folding inward over the central display.
Leaked details suggest the trifold could offer a 10-inch inner screen, Samsung’s flagship 200MP camera sensor, and other top-tier hardware. The phone is expected to cost around $3,000 (roughly Rs 2.64 lakh), while the Mate XTs is priced from 17,999 yuan (about Rs 2.22 lakh).

What’s next?
Alongside Project Moohan and the Galaxy trifold, Samsung is also preparing lightweight XR glasses under the codename Coastal (HAEAN), developed in partnership with Google. These glasses are tipped for release sometime in 2026.
