Samsung, a South Korean smartphone maker, launched the Galaxy S23 FE 5G in India recently. The device is a worthy successor to the premium Galaxy S21 FE 5G. After this, it seems the next S series flagships - the Galaxy S24 series could be a game-changing offering compared to the current iteration when measured head-to-head in AI advancements.

According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, OneUI 6.1 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will introduce several AI features. He added in the post on X (formerly called Twitter) that the enhancements will also improve the company's in-house voice assistant - Bixby. Considering the extent of these changes, @UniverseIce added Samsung may call them AI phones.

"One UI 6.1 and the Galaxy S24 series bring many new AI features, AI more powerful than Bixby, and Samsung's largest AI update in history. Maybe Samsung will call the Galaxy S24 an AI phone," the tipster posted on X.

The South Korean giant has already released One UI 6, which will roll out for users in the coming weeks. The '6.1' version could imply the next major overhaul in the software update. It remains to be seen whether these features will be available on older 'S' and 'Z' series flagships. If these features require some exclusive hardware to work, the users may have to live with a compromised experience.

The smartphones will likely debut with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in select markets and Exynos 2400 in others. Speaking of the latter, in a newsroom post discussing the Exynos CPU, Samsung said the processor will offer a 14.7x boost in AI performance compared to the Exynos 2200.

A new AI tool for upcoming phones will have "text-to-image AI generation" via the chip. Secondly, an AI-based tracking technology will allow users to capture "4x close-ups of moving objects" with zero quality loss. It remains to be seen how these features perform in the Snapdragon-powered models. For context, the Galaxy S24 series could comprise three models: Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra, which may debut in January next year.
