The Galaxy S26 series may still be months from its official debut, but the leaks are already in full swing—especially for the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra. The latest leak points to a major upgrade that performance-focused users will love: faster RAM than anything currently on the market.
When people discuss phone specs, the spotlight usually lands on processors and cameras. RAM often comes up too, but usually in terms of capacity, like 8GB or 16GB. What tends to fly under the radar is RAM speed—the rate at which it can move data—and that’s exactly where the S26 Ultra could make headlines.

According to reliable tipster @UniverseIce, the new flagship will ship with LPDDR5X RAM capable of hitting “10.7 Gbps” in data transfer speed. That’s a notable jump from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 8.5 Gbps, translating into a 25% speed boost. If the processor is the engine, then RAM is the highway for your data. A faster highway means apps open quicker, multitasking feels smoother, and high-performance games load faster with improved graphics stability.
The leak also suggests that Samsung won’t be limiting this speed advantage to just select variants—all Galaxy S26 Ultra models could come with 16GB of RAM as standard. Combine that with the rumoured Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset, and you’re looking at a phone built for heavy gaming, demanding workloads, and effortless everyday use.

One question remains: where will this super-fast RAM come from? The tipster hasn’t revealed whether it’s Samsung-made or supplied by Micron. Last year, Samsung sourced memory from Micron for the Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung unveiled its own LPDDR5X chip in early 2024, boasting the same 10.7 Gbps speed, while Micron announced its version in early 2025. Either way, the S26 Ultra’s memory upgrade looks set to be one of the standout features of Samsung’s next big launch.
