Samsung appears set to make a giant leap into the world of extended reality (XR), with its highly speculated-about Galaxy XR headset now fully leaked just days before when it is thought that it will be launched. Initially codenamed Project Moohan, the headset could officially launch within a few weeks before October is through, signalling Samsung's serious entry into the mixed reality space.
Leaked Specifications Draw a Portrait of a Rightful Flagship XR Device
According to a report by Android Headlines, the Galaxy XR headset will boast an incredible 4K micro-OLED display, which has the capability of giving an incredible 29 million pixels and a pixel density of 4,032 PPI—higher than Apple's Vision Pro. It will be fuelled by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip, which is meant for high-performance immersive experiences.

Samsung is pairing the hardware with its own One UI XR platform, based on its own proprietary platform, which guarantees the familiar feel of Galaxy but in a completely immersive environment. The headset will have spatial audio support, as well as dual speakers and a few sensors to monitor hands, eyes, and voice.
Controllers, Build, and Battery
The Galaxy XR would feature two dedicated controllers, each with six degrees of freedom, analogue sticks, and haptics. Weighing in at approximately 545 grams, the product would offer up to two hours of battery life, or 2.5 hours of video time. Leaked photos also indicate an external battery pack possibility.
Hardware-wise, it has six cameras in the front, LED lighting, air vents, and light shields which can be removed for immersion and comfort. The head strap should be adjustable, and the device will be equipped with internal cushioning and two-way speakers built in.
Apps showcased in the UI are YouTube, Netflix, Google Maps, and Samsung's own Gallery and Camera applications. But information like RAM, storage, and connectivity options is not revealed.
