Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Launched: Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at its Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 event, and it's clear the company is pushing foldable design and performance to new heights. With a slimmer profile, cutting-edge internals, and a bunch of AI features baked in, the Fold 7 marks a major evolution in the premium foldable category.

Sleeker, Lighter, and Built to Last

One of the first things you'll notice is just how thin and light this device is compared to its predecessors. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures only 4.2 mm thick when unfolded and 8.9 mm when folded, making it the thinnest Samsung foldable yet. It weighs just 215 grams, a significant reduction from last year’s Fold 6 (239 g), improving portability without compromising durability.

Samsung has also upgraded the build materials. The cover screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the rear is reinforced with Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The frame is made from Armour Aluminiumum, and the new Armourr FlexHinge adds to the phone’s structural integrity.

Performance Meets AI with Snapdragon 8 Elite

Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the Snapdragon 8 “Elite for Galaxy”, which Samsung claims delivers up to 38% faster CPU and 41% improved NPU performance over its predecessor. This means better multitasking, smoother gaming, and more responsive AI features.

You’ll get up to 16GB of RAM and storage options going all the way to 1TB, ensuring that performance keeps up even under demanding workloads.

200MP Pro Camera System

Samsung isn't holding back on the camera front either. The Fold 7 features a triple rear camera setup, headlined by a 200 MPP primary sensor with Quad Pixel autofocus, OIS, and an 85-degree field of view. It’s joined by a 12 MPP ultra-wide camera and a 10 MPP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 10MP front camera on the cover display and another 10MP sensor on the inner screen.

Samsung also introduced a new ProVisual Engine, enhancing camera output using AI for scene optimisation, detail enhancement, and smarter image rendering.

Stunning Displays, Inside and Out

The main display is an 8-inch QXGA+ (1968x2184 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 368 ppii, and up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness — perfect for bright outdoor use.

The outer display is no slouch either: a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (1080x2520 pixels) AMOLED 2X screen with a tall 21:9 aspect ratio and the same 120Hz refresh rate.

AI Takes Centre Stage

Samsung has brought a wave of Galaxy AI features to the Fold 7. Some of the key tools include:

  • Gemini Live for on-device voice and language assistance
  • Circle to search for instant results based on what's on screen..
  • AI Results View for Smarter Organisation
  • Drawing Assist and Writing Assist for creativity and productivity

The phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8 right out of the box, the fastest rollout of a new Android version on a Samsung device to date.

Battery, Charging & Connectivity

Powering everything is a 4,400 mAhh battery, which supports 25 WW wired fast charging (50% in just 30 minutes), Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare.

Connectivity options include 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. A range of sensors are also packed in, from accelerometers to geomagnetic sensors, and there’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for fast unlocking.
