Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Watch lineup is starting to take shape ahead of its expected debut later this year alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8. And this time, the company could finally be making its premium Ultra smartwatch a little more accessible.
According to a report from Dutch publication GalaxyClub, Samsung is reportedly working on two versions of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 for European markets. Unlike the first-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra, which only arrived with LTE support, the new model may also get a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-only option.
That would mark a major shift for Samsung’s Ultra smartwatch strategy. The original Galaxy Watch Ultra launched in 2024 as an LTE-exclusive wearable, allowing users to handle calls, messages, and internet-based features independently without needing a connected phone nearby.
By creating a version that works with only Bluetooth technology, Samsung may actually be trying to reduce the price point of the Ultra series. This is according to reports indicating that Samsung is doing this amid an increase in prices of components for several products to come.
The report further claims that Samsung plans to release the Bluetooth model across multiple European regions, including the Netherlands. If true, it would bring the Ultra lineup closer to the company’s regular Galaxy Watch models, which are traditionally available in both Bluetooth and LTE versions.
Interestingly, earlier leaks had suggested that the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could become Samsung’s first smartwatch to feature built-in 5G connectivity. However, the latest report indicates that Europe may not get that version. In its place, Samsung appears to be working on a 4G LTE version that would bear the designation SM-L715F for that area, whereas the 5G model might stay exclusive to countries such as the United States and South Korea.
Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 Series is believed to launch along with Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 5 in the coming year of 2026.
