Samsung Smart TV Down: Thursday turned unexpectedly frustrating for Samsung TV users across the US, as thousands of smart TVs stopped functioning normally, leaving viewers locked out of popular streaming apps like Netflix, Peacock, and YouTube TV.

Instead of catching their favourite shows, many users found themselves stuck on the TV’s terms and conditions screen. The apps refused to load, and an error message citing server issues became the only thing on screen.

DownDetector, a platform that tracks online service disruptions, logged over 2,000 reports of the outage—suggesting the issue was far from isolated. Samsung TVs across the country appeared to be affected.

Users didn’t hold back. Social media quickly filled with frustrated reactions. One person tweeted, “Can’t even watch TV tonight because the damn Samsung server is down.” Another shared a particularly unfortunate situation: “The Samsung server is down. Took down the five-year-old TV, thinking it was broken, and bought a new 2025 Samsung TV. Only to realise the server issue continues. Rough night…”

The main complaint? TVs kept looping back to the terms and conditions page, with a message indicating the Samsung server couldn’t be reached—effectively locking users out of basic functionality.

Samsung has yet to release a public explanation. So far, the company seems to be managing the situation through private replies on social media, responding to individual complaints rather than addressing users broadly.

For now, the root of the problem remains unclear. But if you're dealing with the same glitch, you're definitely not alone—and there’s a good chance your TV isn’t actually broken.
