Samsung’s long-awaited Project Moohan, the company’s answer to Apple’s Vision Pro, is finally nearing launch. According to reports, the high-end VR headset will be revealed in October 2025, with preorders beginning September 29. The rollout will start in Korea on October 13, followed by a global launch on October 21.
Premium Hardware With Qualcomm XR2+ Gen 2
Leaks suggest the Moohan headset will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 — the upgraded version of the chipset used in Meta’s Quest 3 and Quest 3S. This positions it firmly in the premium XR space, aimed at competing with Apple rather than Meta’s mainstream headsets.

Display Technology: Sharper Than Vision Pro
Samsung isn’t holding back on display quality. Project Moohan will feature:
- 1.3-inch Micro-OLED panels
- 3552×3840 resolution per eye
- High brightness and wide color gamut
That's an incredible 13.64 million pixels per eye - nearly two more than Apple's Vision Pro and far outpacing Quest 3's 4.56 million. This provides sharper visuals, deeper colors, and an unforgettable VR experience.
Price: Positioned Between Meta and Apple
The only catch? The price. Reports suggest Moohan will cost between $1,799 and $2,999.
- Much higher than Meta’s Quest 3 ($499)
- Still cheaper than Apple’s $3,499 Vision Pro
- Competitive against Sony’s enterprise-focused $4,000+ headsets
Samsung appears to be aiming for a middle ground — premium pricing for premium specs, but still undercutting Apple.

The Bigger Picture
Project Moohan has been in the works for over two years, and its design was revealed late last year. With Apple already in the market and Meta dominating the budget segment, Samsung’s entry could shake up the XR space by targeting users who want Vision Pro-level visuals at a slightly lower cost.
Conclusion
With its high-resolution Micro-OLED displays, powerful Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, and a price bracket just under Apple’s Vision Pro, Samsung’s Project Moohan is shaping up to be one of the most important VR launches of 2025. The October debut will show whether Samsung can finally carve out its place in the next wave of immersive computing.
