Snapchat, a popular real-time photo-sharing and instant messaging social media platform, has been constantly improving its user interface in order to retain its massive global user base. The application now allows users to enable the dark mode in a new update. Previously, the application only allowed Snapchat+ subscribers to do so, but Android users can now do so without paying.

Mishaal Rahman, an Android expert, took to his profile and shared a post on X informing users of the new functionality. "Users claim that turning on dark mode in Snapchat is now possible without a Snapchat+ subscription!" he wrote.

"It's a relief that Snapchat reconsidered and removed the paywall for dark mode. I thought it was an unwise decision," he commented. Rahman highlighted that the company's support page still states that only paying subscribers can access it.

"Support page still says you need Snapchat+ to gain 'early access to Dark Mode' on Android, but that doesn't seem to be true anymore," he wrote.

Meanwhile, a Lens Creator Rewards programme for Snap AR creators in India was launched by Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, last week. Snap AR creators, developers, and teams now have a new way to reward themselves for producing high-performing Lenses on the messaging app with the Lens Creator Rewards.

Lens Creators' lenses drive significant community engagement in India, ranking among the top five markets. Lens Creators with the highest-performing monthly lenses in Mexico, the US, or India have the opportunity to earn up to $7,200.

Members of the Lens Studio community from close to 40 different countries, including India, are welcome to apply. 'India's Top Nicknames' and 'My Nickname' are two new AR lenses with a nickname theme that were made available to users in the nation in June by the well-known social media platform.

The custom nickname AR experience was created with the specific intention of letting users proudly celebrate their nicknames.
