SpaceX successfully launched a new group of Starlink satellites into orbit early on Saturday, July 26, 2025, continuing its push to expand global satellite internet coverage.
A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 5:01 a.m. EDT (2:31 p.m. IST) from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. About nine minutes after liftoff, the upper stage reached its target orbit. Just under an hour into the flight, 28 Starlink satellites were deployed into low Earth orbit as part of the Group 10-26 mission.

Confirming the successful release, SpaceX wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Deployment of 28 Starlink satellites confirmed.”
This launch marks the first of two Starlink missions SpaceX had planned for the day. The second, scheduled for later that night, is set to lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 8:55 p.m. PDT (which is 4:25 a.m. IST on July 27), carrying another batch of 24 satellites.
The rocket’s first stage booster (B1078), which has now completed 22 flights, separated about two minutes after launch. It then executed a controlled landing on the autonomous droneship "A Shortfall of Gravitas" stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

This launch came shortly after a 2.5-hour service interruption affected Starlink users globally. According to an update from the company, the outage stemmed from a “failure of key internal software services that operate the core network.” SpaceX assured users, “The network issue has been resolved, and Starlink service has been restored. We understand how important connectivity is and apologise for the disruption.”
With the addition of these 28 satellites, over 8,000 Starlink units are now active in orbit. SpaceX holds authorisation to deploy up to 12,000 satellites under its current license, forming the backbone of its global broadband initiative.
