Spotify, which has undergone significant changes in the application, is now ready to integrate generative AI. With this, the audio streaming platform will become the first music streaming platform to use AI, and the company intends to provide next-generation AI playlists to its huge user base. The tool is presently under beta testing, and the platform's AI playlist feature will let premium customers create bespoke playlists using text prompts.
Spotify AI Playlists Eligible Countries:
Spotify’s new AI feature will be available for iOS and Android users and will be available in countries including the UK, and Australia, and it will be further expanded to other countries, said a report.
Spotify AI Playlists: How Will It Work
Spotify Premium users will be able to use text prompts or phrases which will allow them to create a dedicated playlist just like ‘Create a Gym Playlist’. The text prompts can include emojis, colours, names of movies and even more to get more aligned recommendations. With this, the audio-streaming platform will show the relevant artists, genres, moods or songs.
Spotify AI Playlists AI Model:
Spotify will employ the generative AI model LLM to learn user behaviour and recommend more relevant music based on their situation, mood, and preference. Previously, the business launched the AI-powered DJ, which provides a unique music selection with spoken-word commentary.

Spotify is expected to limit these features to premium subscriptions and market these features to lure more customers to buy the subscription. Other reports suggest that the company is even planning to raise the subscription cost for users in select markets. Not only that, Spotify is also implementing more restrictions for the free users forcing them to opt for the premium subscription.
