Spotify has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud, utilising big language models (LLMs) like Google Bard and OpenAI's ChatGPT, in an effort to completely transform the user experience. It will offer personalised suggestions based on the users' listening habits across podcasts and audiobooks.
To produce text and other material, large-scale datasets are utilised to train artificial intelligence-driven LLMs, such as ChatGPT and Google Bard. LLMs such as PaLM 2, Codey, Imagen, and Chirp are available on Alphabet's Google Cloud and have been trained on a variety of data forms such as text, codes, images, audio, and video, which can be helpful for the brand.

Spotify has been a pioneer in the adoption of artificial intelligence and used AI in music recommendation algorithms in the past. The Swedish company is now attempting to duplicate this success in its non-music material, especially in the areas of audiobooks and podcasts, demonstrating its dedication to adopting cutting-edge technologies.
Spotify intends to provide more revenue-generating formats including audiobooks and podcasts in order to improve profits. As a result, their relationship with Google Cloud is critical. The large music streaming corporation expects high-margin returns from its deliberate move into non-music media.

Gustav Söderström, Spotify's Chief Product and Technology Officer, was upbeat about the way technology is evolving and Google Cloud's commitment to providing a cutting-edge platform. "The evolution of our technology has been matched by Google Cloud's commitment to building the best possible platform for our products to run on and driving further innovation with the emerging capabilities of generative AI," he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Spotify’s competitor, Apple Music is also getting a few enhancements with the upcoming iOS 17.1. The new update will also bring a slew of new features including the highly anticipated Journal app, which will let the iOS users track their day-to-day life.
