Be it education or corporate, AI is revolutionising sectors across the globe. In a recent move, Surat police adopted an AI-powered solution to train its staff, help decrease cybercrime and serve the requirements of the citizens. The WhatsApp chatbot will offer assistance to people around a range of online crimes, which can range from reporting fraud to learning safety tips.

The first-ever 'AI Cyber Mitra' in India is among the efforts towards public safety, according to Ahmedabad Mirror. The chatbot supports three languages and will serve the diverse needs of people. One of them highlighted by Sharad Singhal, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Surat, was the 'Find My Police Station' feature, according to ANI.

The AI Mitra will also help people identify the concentration of cases (and their nature) in a particular area. "Our officers will also be trained using AI to catch cybercrime gangs indulging in phishing, stalking, and sextortion," the Surat ACP added. The chatbot will be available round-the-clock (24x7) for assistance. It can help people with questions such as how they can report cyber fraud, know about legal procedures, get safety tips around evolving cybercrimes and more.
