TWITTER, a popular microblogging platform, has officially admitted that a portion of its source code was leaked on GitHub and has sent a copyright infringement notice to the open-source coding collaboration platform claims a report.

According to The New York Times, Twitter also asked the US District Court for the Northern District of California to direct GitHub to reveal the identity of the person who shared the code and other users who have downloaded it. Twitter has already been facing difficulties with the messy Twitter Blue, decreasing active user base, and the valuation of the company.

The code has now been removed from GitHub, and it is unknown how long the leaked source code was available online. "Technology companies frequently regard such code as a closely guarded secret and do not share it for fear of giving competitors an unfair advantage or revealing security vulnerabilities," according to the report.

This month, Twitter's CEO announced that, as of March 31, all of the platform's code for suggesting tweets will be made publicly available.

Musk stated on Twitter, "On March 31, Twitter will open source all code used to recommend tweets. "Our 'algorithm' is overly complicated and not completely understood internally." People will find many silly things, but we'll fix them as soon as they're discovered!" he added.

Musk also stated that the company is working on a simplified approach to "serve" more "compelling" tweets, which will be open source."While providing code transparency will be extremely humiliating at first, it should result in a rapid improvement in recommendation quality." Above all, we hope to earn your trust," he added.

Musk stated last month that the platform's algorithm will be made open source and improved rapidly. Twitter's CEO stated that the company will use artificial intelligence (AI) in the coming months to detect and highlight manipulation of public opinion on this platform.
