ELON Musk, the new Twitter boss who has already made a slew of changes to the micro-blogging platform after the takeover has now announced the rebranded version of Super Follows which will let the creators earn a monthly income from the content they post on the platform including the long form tweets, videos, images and more.

Twitter has also announced that creators will receive a portion of the revenue generated by subscriptions. "Apply to provide your followers with subscriptions to any material, from longform text to hours of video!" Simply select 'Monetization' from the settings menu," Musk tweeted.

This feature is currently available to users in the United States who meet the platform's eligibility requirements. Meanwhile, subscription purchases are available on Android, iOS, and the web in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria For Being A Creator On Twitter:

According to Twitter's support page, the creator must have at least 500 followers, have posted 25 tweets in the previous 30 days, and be at least 18 years old. It also stated that to qualify, one must have a minimum of 10,000 active followers.

How Can Creators Earn Money:

Twitter creators can now charge a monthly subscription fee of $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99 and earn up to 97% of the revenue if their lifetime earnings are less than $50,000. If the creator exceeds the amount, the company reduces the amount to 80%.

Users who purchase a subscription will gain access to exclusive tweets, subscriber badges, newsletters, Twitter features, and more. The creators can also share a dedicated link through which they can host subscriber-only conversations to which only subscribers have access.

Elon Musk stated on Twitter, "For the next 12 months, Twitter will keep none of the money. You will receive whatever money we receive, which is 70% for iOS and Android subscriptions (they charge 30%) and 92% for web (could be better, depending on payment processor)."
